Mall of Istanbul Hotel is the second phase of the mixed-use development Mall of Istanbul which is completed in 2014 in Ikitelli district of Istanbul. It is composed of private residences, a five-star hotel and a congress centre. The hotel has 180 rooms, of which 19 are suites.

The plot that the building sits on is near one of the congested motorways of the city and that fact makes the design of the building enclosure even more challenging for the given functions.

BDS was appointed as the façade and building acoustics, noise control consultant for the project, having had experience with the first phase of it.

BDS's work on this project proves that it is possible for façade design to reduce indoor sound level to bedroom comfort requirement by carefully crafting window to wall ratios and upholstery along with the right selection of glazing even if it is located in a place where congestion is high.

Hotel Tower Facade

Storey high off-site assembled facade panels which are carefully integrated to centilevered steel balconies and shades extending from the floor slabs provided quality and efficency of workmanship.

Providing Comfort

Comprehensive acoustical analysis with regard to the building skin resulted in the achievement of required comfort for the guest rooms which are facing to a very noisy highway.

Ball and Meeting Rooms

BDS has undertaken not only facade design and engineering services for MOI Hotel but acoustical consultancy as well. Room acoustics design of ball and meeting rooms along with the development of noise and vibration plans and application are amongst the services provided for the building.
